The elephants

Side by side two elephants grew

Down different paths they traveled

But joined with the same heart, never far apart

Over the years always there, loyal and true

Through many troubled times 

Over terrain rough and smooth

Providing healing and comfort, trunks entwined 

Confiding things no-one else could understand

Happiness and laughter too

Knowing each other, a special bond

More than blood, the best of friends

At the waterhole, they share memories of times gone past 

Celebrate their blessings

Speak of their hopes and dreams 

Supporting each other as elephants do
